Rewards - Current

3/6/96

1. A hideous 'Swamp Ghoul' from the Grey Pools Mire has been attacking lone travellers and small groups on the road to Hawfair Green, even in daylight.  The Sheriff of Yggsburgh has posted a 300gp reward for its head.

2. A group of merchants recently hired a local scout, Vansley Adams, to investigate the apparent disappearance of the Lonely Valley's Green Friends gnome clan. Vansley has not returned, and fearing he has met some dark fate the merchants are now offering 100gp to anyone who will make contact with the Green Friends or find out what has happened to them.

3. As well as the recent kidnappings and rescues of Miss Victoria Markle and Miss Sylvia Caldwell and death or capture of three kidnappers, the Sheriff of Yggsburgh is investigating three other disappearances of respectable Yggsburgh women dating back to the start of the year: Miss Jane Goodarm, Mrs Virginia Price, and Miss Cynthia Banks. Slavers are again suspected. A reward of 100gp is offered for the safe return of each of these women, and likewise 100gp for the capture of any slaver still at large. However it's widely believed that the unfortunate women are unlikely to still be in Yggsburgh.

Yggsburgh's Most Wanted
The City Gaol has lists of Yggsburgh's Most Wanted, deceased/captured are crossed off the lists.  Bounties are dead/alive, alive being worth twice as much.  Noted outlaws on the list (#1-#5):

#1 is Gold Hal the River Pirate (500/1000), believed to have teamed up with the notorious #3 Bloody Rosie (300/600) as his first mate.  Hal captains a fast schooner on the broad Nemo River.  Wanted for piracy, theft and murder.  Hal's most outrageous exploit was the raiding last year of the pleasure barge of the fair Lady Octavia deRedfort, sister of the Baron Lyle Redfort, and the carrying off of that damsel.  It is believed Hal still holds the unfortunate Lady, and goes into battle with her strapped to the prow of his ship as a living figurehead. With the lower Nemo growing too hot for him as Baron Redfort's men hunt him, Hal has recently been active on the upper Nemo above Yggsburgh.  Contrary to your map (bottom of page) the upper Nemo River runs on eastward through the Great Leech Marsh, into the County of Easmoor.  Baron Redfort would likely pay well for Hal's head also.

#2 is Red Bill Farmer (400/800), leader of a large band of brigands often active on the northern Menhir Hills Road, in the Little Hillwood region not far from Castle Zagyg.  His band includes a brigand mage, #5 Jocho (200/400).  The independent knight Sir Alec of Gaxhill is a foe of Red Bill, and would likely also pay for his head.  He may have a permanent base in the Little Hillwood.

#3 Bloody Rosie (300/600) is first mate to Gold Hal the River Pirate.

#4 is Dirty George (200/400), a brigand leader believed active in the Deerwood, his gang known to accost travellers on the southern Menhir Hills road. Rumour has it that Dirty George has recently moved further east.
