Hail Smon, and well met!
Smon Has entered the room
Smon: Hi all
Kjato Ragfoot: Hi Smon
Smon: Glad to see you again Kjato.
Kjato Ragfoot: Yeah, finally finished moving. Put my shelfs in the living room today, now I am only missing a table and my couch.
Smon:
Smon: I'll wait a bit, see if we get another player.
Goonergeezer: hiya smon, not sure how long i can stay on tonight but will stay for as long as poss
Smon: I feel the same
corum Has entered the room
Smon: Hi corum!
corum: ey up!
Smon: just been waiting for players, 3 is not bad
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello Corum
corum: Hi kjato duvader is back?
corum:
Smon: I'll do an intro post in a moment
Kjato Ragfoot: Yup. Kjato has internet again, which means Duvader finally gets back to adventuring again after doing his tax return.
corum: nice, been a while man, welcome back!
Kjato Ragfoot: Thanks.
vondan: i'm at work now
corum: don will be here soon I bet!
Smon: GM: Duvader has finally completed his very lengthy self-training as a Thief & levelled up...
Smon: Kjato roll d6 or d3 for new hp
vondan: what about agame with sky pirates attacking Red wall and there is one lone little mouse named micky who is the next keeper of the sword of martin. He stands on the castle wall and holds the sword up and says "by the power or redwall I am the power" and turnes into He-Mouse
vondan: and the druid should be named HempFlower
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d3 and gets: 1
Smon: bad luck K
Kjato Ragfoot: Grr. I will become a master thief and steal the life force of those more vigorous than I!
Smon: 14 hp, ties with Morganna when she's got the +2 Familiar boost.
Smon: Garrick has 32 (nice rolls) and Flynn 33.
vondan: oh K your K star ninja star is ready
vondan:http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz234/DanCoGames/MIsc/K_star.jpg
Kjato Ragfoot: K-Man! dadadadadadadada...
Goonergeezer: (i just gotta go and have dinner back in a few min
Smon: GM: OK, I'll start Yggsburgh game. Hearing that his comrades are set to try again for the Mouths of Madness, Duvader heads north from Yggsburgh when the gates open at dawn.
vondan: original made for K girl but i pull it out and make the same tired joke for any oine with k in the name
Smon: Riding at a good speed, his trusty pony eats up the miles; 21 miles north of Yggsburgh along the Menhir Hills Road he reaches the turn-off east to the Old Castle Track.
Smon: A good sized group of riders have passed this way recently; word has it that Garrick, Morganna, Flynn & Corak have teamed up with a knight from the south & his band of retainers.
Smon: 8 miles along the Old Castle Track, just past the turn-off to the Dark Chateau to the north, Duvader tracks them as they turn off the track and head south to a cottage in the woods...
Kjato Ragfoot: Soso. A cottage.
Smon: When Duvader arrives, he sees Morganna and Corak nursing an injured knight outside the cottage; a dead ogre lies in the doorway with an arrow in its eye.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "Hello Corak, hello Morganna!"
corum: Flynn will search the ogres cottage
Smon: They greet Duvader. Garrick and Flynn, you are searching the cottage with the knight's retainers when you hear Duvader arrive. The ogres' captives are most grateful for rescue - two boys of about 12. A blonde girl of 16, who was Sleeped by Morganna, snoozes by the ogres' corpse.
Smon: The cottage is well-appointed, with a green copper cauldron 3' wide for cooking; on the kitchen shelves amidst the earthenware is a silver goblet worth 12gp.
Smon: Next the goblet an enchanted ladle hovers in the air!
Smon: The cupboard holds 20 bottles of wine, some very fine vintages.
corum: Flynn hands the goblet to Garrick
corum: and shouts Morganna
Smon: Up in the loft is the ogre's smelly sleeping pallet. Underneath the straw pallet is a sack of coins and a silver whiskey flask, full.
corum: "Morganna, come look at this
Smon: Morganna does so.
Smon: brb gonna get whisky!
Kjato Ragfoot: An enchanted ladle? There must be hobbits nearby...
Goonergeezer: (back, soz about that guys)
corum: @ morg "this ladle is magic, is there anything you can use here?" points at cupboards
Smon: There are wood & iron utensils, peasant crockery, and a tin mug.
Smon: A cry goes up from the retainers as they try a large 30-gallon keg sat upon a stone pedestal, and find it to be near-full of cheap ale.
corum: Flynn takes the loot and a bottle of wine (the dustiest) heads outside
Smon: Sir Percifal groans, touching the dent in his skull. "That beast didst smite me most sorely!"
corum: "hail and well met, Duvader!"
Goonergeezer: Garrick grabs a couple of bottles of wine and carefully wraps them in his cloak before placing them in his saddlebags
corum: Flynn smiles @ sir gnome!
Smon: He looks around: "Greetings, gnome. Men, see to that fair sleeping maiden, find her some clothes to cover her nakedness."
Goonergeezer: Garrick" Duvader! well met, i am glad to see you,i thought we were going to have to drag sacks of gold back without you"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "Well, I heard you could use a pony and a trusty mule for carriage and thus sped along."
Kjato Ragfoot: "Good to see you all again."
Kjato Ragfoot: "And I see you continued monster hunting".
Goonergeezer: garrick"Aye and a quick pair of hands and a trusty bow wouldnt go amiss either"
Smon: Two of the retainers wake the blonde girl, and find her some ragged clothes from the cottage.
Smon: Percy: "My friends, I apologise, but I must return to Yggsburgh while my pate mends. I shall return these three children to their next of kin. Do you intend to press on, or return with us?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader looks at the others. "I just arrived, so I will leave the decision to you."
Goonergeezer: garrick "i think we should at least have one foray into the caves, percy why dont you rest here and let us scout our way a bit, upon our return we could all go back topgeer"
corum: @ Garrick "perhaps we should press on" whispering "he's a liability"
Smon: Percy nods to Garrick. "A few hours' rest might be just the thing. Then we'll return to Hawfair Green tonight."
corum: eyes at percy plonker
Goonergeezer: @corak in a whisper "i need this mans trust and respect if i intend to marry tabitha
vondan Has exited the room
Goonergeezer: garrick: yes percy with your blessing if we could take 2 of your men at arms in case we come into trouble?
corum: Flynn @ Garrick "he needs to be alive for you to do that"
Smon: GM: As Corak & Morganna players not here, how about they stay w Percy & he sends 4 men on with you?
Goonergeezer: ooc yep that sounds good
corum: NP simon
corum: ((can we take Corak for CLW?))
Smon: GM: Percy instructs Rugus, his Armiger, to take 3 men and accompany you, while Morganna & Coral investigate the surrounds.
Smon: You have 33hp, Flynn.
Smon: Corak used clws on Percy.
corum: Duv doesnt
Kjato Ragfoot: Duv plans not to get hit.
corum: ((cool lets go!))
Eliana Has entered the room
Smon: hi el
oakpack4 Has exited the room
corum: Hey eli
Smon: hi oak
Goonergeezer: garrick lets all leave our horses here, better than to take them and find them dead outside the caves when we return
Goonergeezer: (hiya eli)
Eliana sneak into the shadowy room and hide behinds a closet door
Kjato Ragfoot: ((Hello Eli! I still learn for 30 Minutes every day!))
Eliana: (Hi)
Eliana:  )
Goonergeezer: garrick:"flynn can you scout ahead of us and see what on the trail, or even find one of these damned caves
corum: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8qs4?ADD-Dungeon-Masters-Guide-Hardcover
corum: Paizo email today
Smon: GM: Flynn, Duvader, Garrick & 4 men at arms mount up and head north along the short path that leads back to the main castle track. The misty spires of Castle Zagyg can be glimpsed to the east through the woods.
corum: Flynn will ride ahead looking for the mouths and the mist
Smon: (I have a 1e DMG already!)
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Smon: You travel a mile and a half through the trees, then they give way to open ground, and there before you at last rises - Castle Zagyg!
corum: ((did you say the mist was receding atm simon?)
Eliana: ( SO I have too but will preorder in honor of Gary and his family... if the society can afford paintinds and statue of rich millionnaire playing sports... then someone like gary deserves a whole PLaza with a colossal white marble statue covered in gold and with ruby eyes...
Smon: The castle sprawls across a high bluff. The track leads up to a gatehouse on the west face, still swaddled in the cursed fog.
Eliana: (sorry for my disruption)
Smon: (I honour him by GMing his last masterwork!)
Eliana returning to her zone of silence
Eliana:
corum: Flynn will look for signs of recent parties trying to navigate the fog
Smon: A narrow ravine runs just west of the bluff, under the fog; a fog-wrapped drawbridge runs up from the gatehouse, its east end lost in the mist.
corum: Flynn heads back to report to group: then @ Garrick "we cant just stroll up to the gatehouse can we?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader I think the caves are at the bluff, not inside the castle.
Smon: GM: There appear to be several cave openngs in the east side of the ravine, beneath the level of the fog (& drawbridge). Flynn checks for tracks - he see a group of horse tracks heading north-east from the path, down to the north end of the ravine.
corum: Thats he one then - we head in that direction
Goonergeezer: garrick: let pick a cave and see what we can find then
corum: the one
Kjato Ragfoot: How many cave openings are there?
Goonergeezer: garrick: lets check the tracks first though, id hate to come out of the caves and find a mounted enemy waiting for us
corum: Flynn will dismount a distance away, finding a safe spot to leave the horses, and then follow the tracks
Smon: You count 4 cave mouths along the eastern wall of the ravine, the northmost & southmost close to the north & south ends of the bluff, the other two about equidistant in-between.
Smon: GM: You can leave your horses hidden within the tangled brush & briars that fringe the wood, and Flynn follows the tracks north-east.
Smon: Ahead he sees they descend into the ravine, which continues nw of the bluff. North of the bluff the ravine opens out into flat land.
Smon: /roll 1d100
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 90,
corum: Moving as silent as possible just to check if we have any company
Smon: Flynn almost missed it - he spots several horse tracks galloping SE down the ravine, in his direction, then east into the open land north of the castle bluff.
Smon: GM: Garrick & Duvader, the mist over the castle thins for a moment and you spy a great central tower rising above the walls.
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Smon: To the nw the ravine narrows, and is cluttered with bushes, but past several bushes Flynn makes out something suspicious - dark splashes on the ground, and the gleam of steel.
Goonergeezer: Garrick:" one day we will be there, and people will know out names and deeds far and wide"
Kjato Ragfoot: Ah, so the mist is not permanent - I wonder what effects it has...
Smon: As Flynn's eyes scan the area, he sees what looks like rent pieces of armour, clothing... body parts?
Smon: It looks like a group with horses went nw along the ravine, away from the castle bluff. Something attacked them, their riderless horses fled.
corum: Flynn checks to see if he can identify any of the armour, coats of arms etc
Smon: No, he's too far away.
corum: But will head back to the group asap after
Smon: Flynn rejoins the others.
corum: ok will head back and report
corum: @ garrick "depends how brave your feeling?"
corum: "I dont fancy our chances northwards!"
Smon: The ravine is about 20' deep from the west side.
Goonergeezer: gaerrick:" if whatever attacked those riders attacks us i dont like the odds, i say we try one of the cave entrances"
corum: @ Duv "what do you think? You have a gut feeling?"
corum: "gnomes know underground better than us humans!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "If those were riders, the attacker will be weakened. Would probably be a good idea to get after him before he ambushes us."
corum: ((not very 1e, but we could push the retainers out in front first!))
Goonergeezer: garrick "a good point duv, lets go and see what it is, we can always decide after we see it"
Smon: GM: You're following the tracks down into the ravine's NW extension?
corum: ((looks that way))
Smon: GM: OK, you descend the gravelly slope down into the ravine.
Smon: The 4 men at arms have x-bows cocked, shields slung.
Smon: The gloomy chasm is craggy, its bed dotted with prickly shrubs, thistle and saw-tooth sage. The wind whistles through in ghostly tones, and shards of bone debris crunch underfoot amongst the rocks.
Smon: You pass a yellowed skull, looks orc-like,
corum: ((we making them walk out in front?))
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader will have his sling ready.
Goonergeezer: garrick has sword and shield reday
Smon: They'll go in front, gives them a clear shot.
Smon: You reach the scene of carnage, ca 100' nw of the bluff.
corum: Flynn readies scimitar and shield
Smon: There are a few bits of human remains - a hand, a foot - enough to see signs of biting, looks like huge wolves or dogs.
Smon: A suit of scale armour has been rent asunder, and there are scattered chain links.
Eliana Has exited the room
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader Uhuh. That looks ... strange. What kind of creature can cause this kind of massacre?
Smon: Four days-old blood trails lead nw towards the far end of the ravine, and amidst the bushes there you spy a low cave in the west wall, near the ravine floor.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader @ Flynn Any idea what kind of creature could be responsible for this?
Smon: A pair of rocks stand perpendicular, a third oval-shaped rock caps them, framing the cave entrance.
Smon: GM: Such bite marks as Flynn can see looks consistent with wolves, but the savagery seems unnatural, exaggerated.
Smon: /roll 1d100
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 36,
corum: "wolves I think, but they are perhaps caught under some powerful magic"
corum: Flynn @ Duv "I still have silver arrows from hawfair"
Goonergeezer: garrick: i think we should rid them of the foul magics by cleansing them with our swords"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "What kind of magic let's wolves bite scale armour asunder?"
Kjato Ragfoot: "I never heard of such occurences"
Goonergeezer: garrick: could it be ther werewolf that laid the tracks we encountered before"
Smon: Duvader looks at the scale hauberk it looks more like something grasped it and rent it apart
Kjato Ragfoot: "That were no wolves. We should leave."
Smon: The men at arms look nervous. "If there's a werewolf in there we should hold back" says the Armiger, Rufus.
Eliana Has entered the room
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "I fear this is something worse than werewolves. And yes, we should leave and hope that whatever lives in this caves will simply ignore us if we stay far away."
corum: @ duvader "there will be another way in, something evil guards this way"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader @ Corum Yes, let's try a different entrance, farther away from this ... monsters.
Goonergeezer: garrick" then let us retraet slowly and keep a close eye on this cave while we back off
Smon: GM: The cave in front of you is in the West wall of the ravine's NW extension, leading AWAY from Castle Zagyg.
corum: @ Duv "perhaps being a gnome you should choose us another cave?"
Smon: If you go back SE there are 4 caves in the east wall that lead into the bluff beneath the castle.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader @ Flynn "I will take a look at them and try to make an estimated guess."
Kjato Ragfoot: Southeast then?
corum: "lets away from this place then, back to the east wall"
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Smon: GM: You head back 150' SE down the ravine, past where it opens out eastwards to level ground north of the bluff, and reach the first cave in the bluff's west wall.
Smon: The fog hangs lazily above you, over the ravine.
Smon: The cave entrance is about 10' wide by 8' high, but you see now it has largely been closed by piled-up stones, leaving a narrow opening at the base through which only a small creature (Duvader size or smaller) could pass.
Kjato Ragfoot: Does it smell like kobold?
Goonergeezer: garrick" well thats no good for us perhaps another cave would suit us better"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader Well, let's check those stones - if they are only piled up, we might be able to topple them.
Smon: It does smell like kobold!
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "I am quite certain there are kobolds hiding in there. That means that every inch inside this cavern will be trapped."
Goonergeezer: garrick" im glad we have you along the duv"
Smon: GM: The stones are piled to the ceiling, they could be removed given enough time. Toppling seems unlikely (Bend Bars roll to do it)
Eliana:
corum: Flynn "Well sir gnome, lead on you have my sword!"
Goonergeezer: garrick: let me try to topple them then, move back lads"
Goonergeezer rolls 1d100 and gets: 70,
Goonergeezer: garrick grunts and puffs for a few minutes to no avail
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "Now, I hate kobolds as much as any gnome, but this is not your feud - and kobolds are dangerous enemies with precious little treasure. So, unless you want to gain fame with the gnome, you might prefer another cave."
Goonergeezer: garrick "its no good, let try a different cave then"
corum: Flynn @ Duv "lets check em all out and then you can see which one is best?"
Smon: The next cave is around 200' down the ravine, about 80' north of the mist-wrapped gatehouse.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "Well, checking them all out seems like a good idea."
Smon: It's about 6' wide by 10' tall; a foul stench of rot and poo emanates from within.
Smon: A big cowbell hangs from a frayed rope knotted around a jutting stone by the cave mouth.
Goonergeezer: garrick:" how about we fall back aways and try to ring the bell with an arrow and see what comes out?
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "Somehow, my fingers are itching to steal that bell... But rining it from afar sounds good as well."
Kjato Ragfoot: "Let me do it with a stone and my sling. There is an unlimited supply of stones here."
Goonergeezer: garrick "fall back quietly everyone
corum: Flynn falls back
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader follows
Goonergeezer: garrick retreats quietly
Goonergeezer: garrick: right biys ready your crossbows, if somthing hostile comes out i want it full of holes before it knows whats going on"
Smon: GM: You fall back north about 30', any further and you can't see the bell.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader will grab some stones and aim for the bell. Since there should be no lack of stones here, he will simply try so long till he hits.
Goonergeezer: once everyone is 20-3- ' back i will nod to duv to start with his sling
Smon: *dong* the stone hits the bell.
Smon: A deep, harsh voice ushers forth from the cave: "Whose der? Whose a-lookin' fer old Charlie?!"
Goonergeezer: garrick whispering "ring it again"
Kjato Ragfoot: Duv OK.
Kjato Ragfoot: Duv Will try to hit a second time.
Smon: *dong* A moment later, an 8' tall ogre in wolf furs emerges from the cave, carrying a club. There is a deep dent in his skull, very much like the one in poor Sir Percy's pate. The ogre has an imbecilic sort of grin on his face as he looks around.
Mablir Dorlig Has entered the room
Goonergeezer: garrick: Fire now whispered"
Smon: His gaze falls on the party of warriors pointing x-bows and bows at him. He smiles. "Heh heh! Pull me finger, old Charlie'll show ye amagic trick!"
Smon: He profers a finger in your direction.
corum: Flynn looks at Garrick "sport?"
Mablir Dorlig: Hello peeps - day watching Rugby and football - fairly happy(ish)
Goonergeezer: fire!
corum: Hey mabs
Smon: (hi Mab. Corak is at the cottage with Sir Percy & Morgana while the others explore the Mouths of Madness...)
Kjato Ragfoot: ((Shouldn't that be "release arrow?")
Smon: The men-at-arms open up on Charlie...

Smon: (should have been 4)
Goonergeezer: Garrick "drop bows readt weapons and charge"
Smon: What are Duvader & Flynn doing?
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader will shoot his sling.

Smon: Charlie takes a step back, into the shelter of the cave mouth.
Smon: 2 men can follow him in, but the men at arms seem strangely reluctant
Goonergeezer: garrick: come on flynn lets finish this
Smon: Any PCs like to go in?
corum: Flynn will follow in
Goonergeezer: garrick steps into combat
Kjato Ragfoot: Duvader "I'll cover you."
