Born of common blood, Flynn grew up in a small hamlet (Edgewood) on the outskirts of Wychwood Forest in the East Mark. As a child he played alone, with none of his own kind to play with he ventured into the wood and made friends with the inhabitants of the forest; animals, trees and spirits. As soon as he was old enough to leave home he spurned the worlds of men and took to the woods. He made a bed in the boughs of the great oak and drank from natures streams. He learned the ways of a Ranger, to track, to spy and to kill only to survive. He lived happily amongst the inhabitants of the forest as their protector for many years. When the developing world began to threaten his woodland home, cutting it down to build settlements and roads, Flynn was forced to act. For the first time since his childhood he ventured into the worlds of men and set off towards Yggsburgh in search of the money and fame that would protect his Forest Home forever. Now a mercenary he will join any band of travelers that quest for coin.
Although not the strongest of fighters, he has the wisdom and intelligence to be a formidable adversary. Flynn has a great mistrust of the ways of the world which makes him acutely un-charismatic. His time in the Forest has given him a legendary constitution.
