Realmsmen (typically N to LG)
The primary human stock of the Realm tend to fair or ruddy skin, with a wide variety of hair and eye colours, brown hair and blue or brown eyes being most common, with auburn or fair hair not unusual. They resemble the English and Celts of Earth, the race being formed of mixed Cimric and Norse ancestry from the time of the Great Migrations that helped destroy the Sharan Empire. Their widespread culture is feudal, with peasant villages ruled by knights, barons, earls and the occasional king. The King in Dunfalcon traditionally claims rulership of the whole Realm, but it has been centuries since the Realm was truly united.
Gypsies (typically CN)
The Travelling Folk may be related to the Easterlings; their name derives from Gypsus, said to be a river city in northern Neria. They have dark tan to brown skin, dark brown or black curly hair; brown, hazel or green eyes.
Cimric & Cnobrii-Kin (typically N)
Relatives of the ancient Cnobrii barbarian tribe which once held the Eastmark, Cimric folk tend to bronze or coppery skin, brown eyes, more rarely blue or amber, hair is black or brown, rarely sandy or russet. To the north and west some barbaric Cimric hill clans still follow the Old Ways of the Druids, dwelling in tribal groups and battling their ancient foes, the Northmen. The southernmost of the remaining Cimric tribes, the Siluras, hold a broad territory west of Herdley, on Dunfalcon's northwestern frontier.
Northmen (typically N to CN, CE not uncommon)
Barbaric folk hailing from the far north around the Ice Sea, these folk typically have pale white skin, platinum-blond hair, blue or rarely amber eyes. They somewhat resemble the Scandinavians of Earth. In the Realm they are found most often as traders, adventurers, and raiding warbands. In recent years Northman warlords have established Jarldoms on the upper Urt River, the nearest some 70 miles north of Yggsburgh. Most still follow the old Northman gods - Odin, Thor, Baldur et al. North-east beyond the County of Easmoor lie the plains of the Rohiran, a noble Northman tribe known both for their unusual use of heavy cavalry and for their pious devotion to the Lord, rather than to the savage gods of their ancestors. The knights of the Rohiran are dedicated foes of the Wainriders, and have been instrumental in turning back several Easterling invasions against the Western lands. The Earl of Easmoor is said to deploy a small contingent of Rohiran as his elite guards cavalry.
Easterlings (typically LE to NE)
The savage Balchoth Wainriders and other eastern nomad tribes have black hair, sallow skin, and slightly slanted eyes, with high cheekbones. They somewhat resemble the Huns or Turkic peoples of Earth. Easterlings are famous brigands and slavers. While individual Easterlings and small family groups are often found in the Realm, as a race they are highly distrusted. Easterlings are often seen in the Marches of Talworth, east of Yggsburgh. The lands east of Talworth were once part of the Realm, but for centuries they have groaned under the yoke of Easterling tyrants. Only their division into many petty kingdoms prevents the Easterlings forming a dire threat to the Realm. Gods of the Easterlings include Moloch, Belial and Mammon, under their own 'Great God' - Asmodeus.
Sungkinese (typically LN)
Refugees from Sungkin, said to be a civilised far-eastern realm conquered around 30 years ago by an evil Archmage and his Easterling hordes, the Sungkinese are slight of build, with ivory to yellow skin and slanted eyes. They resemble the Chinese of Earth. Sungkinese fled their homeland and came to the Realm by mysterious means, possibly a Portal. Today they typically dwell in enclaves in cities such as Dunfalcon and Yggsburgh. Many have converted to the Great Church.
Nerian (typically LG to LN)
The people of Neria, a vast and sprawling tropical kingdom far to the south which incorporates lush jungle and barren deserts. Nerians have brown to black skin, brown eyes and kinky hair. They resemble the West Africans of Earth. There are no large Nerian populations in the Realm, but aristocratic Nerian families often send their offspring north to be educated at the famous College of Yggsburgh. The Great Church is said to have originated in Neria, and Nerians encountered in the Realm are known for their devotion to the Lord.
