3. Fabian Belvoir -
The youngest and most disappointing child of Sir Anthony and Lady Florence Belvoir of South Pasture. Young Fabian is very much the runt of the litter with the kind of tell tale character that doesn't endear him to other young folks. Sneak and snitch are words he has heard all too often.
His family shunted him off to College at Yggsburgh at the earliest opportunity, he settled down to life as a student in the Academy of Magic where he made no friends at all.
Disgruntled and disaffected he was easy prey to the agents of Uvoll Darktarn (and therefore indirectly Edgar Marcus of Talworth) who happily suborned the young man's affection by providing him with additional funds and arcane training (hence his high starting level while still in training) which in turn allowed him to become more popular with a certain type at school. He greatly helps his class mate (and at best mediocre student) Barnaby Hawks, toadying to him and writing those assignments that Hawk's can't manage. This 'friendship' alone has worked wonders for his standing in society.
He dresses in all the latest fashions (All clothes are 10 X PHB prices)and is now seen at all the best parties but he knows the time will come when all this must be paid for.....

Background: Knighted 4/10/97, Cadwal is the 5th and youngest son of Sir Audley Fortescue and his wife the lady Grace Fortescue (though it is said, unkindly that he could well be a bastard born to an elf maid on one of Audley's many hunting trips to Copse Wood).
Cadwell is blissfully unaware of this as he's pretty dim and is happiest when he's hunting or knocking other young chaps off their horses with his lance. He's heard the hurtful rumors of course but puts it down to other boys been jealous of his uncanny ability to see in the dark (He knows full well this is because he ate lots of carrots as a child). Any way he can't even speak elvish!
Cadwal's aunt, the sister of Sir Audley Fortescue, is Countess Tabitha Kallent snr:
Countess Tabitha Kallent (nee Fortescue) (YY 46-), is Earl George's wife, and mother to his four children. She is unremarkable but for her strong interest in embroidery that some say borders on obsession. The Fortescue are a family of Kallent gentry, with a manor at Holdcut.  She is currently working on a 30' tapestry that will depict the Kallent's triumph over the Black Rune orcs at Oak Ridge. This makes Sir Garrick Kallent Cadwal's in-law.

Sweetrede is a spare and wiry fellow slightly bellow medium height. He is happiest among his native countryside but feel he can achieve much in the cause of Neutrality by offering his sage council to those in power. This means he must hide his true vocation. Before morning prayers in the chapel he will always rise early for his constitutional walk in the country.
He will usually be about his business early, a dour and business like demeanor upon his nut brown, heavily weathered face. It is only when seen in his natural environment that the sparkle returns to his sky blue eyes, a wide, white smile will suddenly fill his short cropped beard and people notice the length and luster of his curly, earth brown hair.
He is great friends with the Elves of the forests and indeed learned their language upon becoming an Initiate of the First Circle. He hopes to protect all denizens of the woods from the predatory expansionism of the 'civilized' world.
He is personally very devoted to the Young Miss (Cassandra Starling) and sees an opportunity to use the families influence to the benefit of all nature.



Character Goals for Sweetrede.
1. Preservation of Nature - To make sure the green bits on the maps stay green. To protect natural animals and rid the world of un-natural predatory ones. Including sentient creatures at odds with the balance.
2. Religious Service - Much as above but he sees the Faerie races as being Nature's best friends at the moment so will help them at every turn. Learning their languages, cultures and giving them access to the old faith. He will also quietly suss out those humans he feels could be worth 'saving' too.
3. Intrigue - His behind the scenes influence will grow as he becomes aware of the power brokers within the game and how he can subtly bring them onto the side of balance.
4. Self discipline - He is a man of nature. Much given to the simple things in life and craves little that will not benefit his cause.

BACKGROUND
Lord Thomas de Redfort was second son to the Baron of Redfort, meant to inherit one third of the barony when his father the old Baron died six years ago (90 YY). But his siblings wronged him, making sure the whole barony was given to his brother Lyle. This intrigue mostly came from his sister Octavia (1 year older), who hates him with a passion for being his parents' favourite child; Lyle was mainly interested in an opportunity to gain the whole barony. Today, both his siblings consider him dead in a 'boating accident' and Lord Thomas - now 'Angus' - plans to use this error to his advantage.
